Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking a Family Peer Support Specialist to join our Mobile Response Stabilization Services team based in McArthur, OH.
*This position will service McArthur, Jackson, and Hocking areas. Candidates must be willing to travel.*
Mobile response and stabilization service (MRSS) is a structured face-to-face intervention and support service provided by a mobile response and stabilization service team that is designed to promptly address a crisis situation; with young people who are experiencing emotional symptoms, behaviors, or traumatic circumstances that have compromised or impacted their ability to function within their family, living situation, school, or community. MRSS is provided to young people who are under the age of twenty-one. The Family Peer Specialist (FPS) supports, educates, role models and encourages parents/caregivers to move toward self-advocacy in the attainment of their own, culturally-specific life goals for themselves and their children. The FPS shares lessons learned in their own lived experience and helps to empower parents who have children with SED/emotional and behavioral health concerns to develop skills and knowledge related to parenting, communication and system navigation; connection to natural supports by working directly 1:1 with each parent/caregiver assigned via in their home, community and virtually.
